Basic Curtain Making Workshop

For beginners and those who want to progress onto making full scale curtains. By the end of the lesson, you will produce a lined, sample curtain which incorporates all the techniques involved in making bespoke curtains. It also prepares learners for Curtain Making - level 1 Cost : £99

Curtain Making - Level 1 - Make a pair of lined curtains in this 2 day workshop to your own specifications, finished with a pencil pleat heading tape

Cost : £190

Interlined Curtains - Interlining vastly improves the look of your curtains whilst providing insulation and adding warmth. In between the curtain and lining, a thick blanket like fabric is used (called bump in the trade). Learn how to construct interlined curtains and produce a sample by the end of the lesson.

1 day workshop Cost : £120

Roman Blinds - You will produce a sample size Roman blind with a cord and weight mechanism. This form of window dressing is not only simple but also effective and can adapt itself to any scheme, whether modern or contemporary.

Cushion Covers - Cushions add the finishing touch to any scheme, whether on a couch or on a bed. Personalise and make your own - from quirky to classic designs - this workshop is not only fun but will inspire you to experiment with all sorts of designs, fabrics and trimmings

Cost : £69

Swags & Tails - if you are interested in learning how to make Swags & Tails with the aid of specialised patterns, then you may do so at an additional cost ( £200 discounted to £150 if you are enrol on the Bespoke Curtains & Tailored Roman Blind Course). The fees will cover materials, making up, patterns and notes. The pattern techniques will allow the most novice sewer to achieve immaculate results for this elegant form of window dressing.

In addition to the above workshops, I can also tailor lessons to individual needs. For instance, if you have a design idea for a window dressing, cushion cover or perhaps a nursery, then we can arrange for a 1 to 1 session and help you put together your project.Where? It offers reasonable rates and also has great transport links. Make the most of your stay and visit the town that hosted the Olympic Games. (John Lewis at Westfield Startford City offers a spectacular view of the Olympic park). East London is also home to the famous Walthamstow Market - an Aladin's Cave for trimmings and cotton fabrics at amazingly cheap prices...
